Cookies and Similar Technologies
Cookies are small files that websites and service providers place on your browser or
device. We and our service providers may use first-party and third-party cookies and
similar technologies.
Cookies used through the Website may include:
- Essential cookies: used for security, website operation, navigation,
consent preferences, and other necessary functions. - Preference cookies: used to remember choices, such as information you
choose to save when submitting a comment. - Analytics and performance cookies: used to understand website traffic,
reader activity, errors, and performance. - Advertising cookies: used to deliver, limit, personalize, and measure
advertisements. - Affiliate and campaign-measurement cookies: used to determine whether a

Depending on your location, you may be shown a consent banner or privacy-preference
controls. You may change available advertising choices by using the “Manage Privacy
Preferences,” “Privacy Settings,” or “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” link
displayed on the Website.
You may also configure your browser to block or delete cookies. Blocking some cookies may
affect Website functionality, saved preferences, embedded content, analytics, or the ads
you see.
Advertising and Journey by Mediavine
The Website works with Journey by Mediavine to manage programmatic advertising.
Mediavine and its advertising partners may use first-party and third-party cookies,
pixels, tags, device identifiers, and similar technologies to deliver, personalize,
limit, measure, and report on advertisements.
Information processed for advertising may include your IP address, browser and device
information, operating system, language, approximate location, referring source, pages
viewed, interactions with advertisements, cookie identifiers, and other pseudonymous
identifiers.
Depending on your location and applicable law, you may be asked whether you consent to
personalized advertising or may be provided with an option to opt out of the sale or
sharing of personal information for advertising purposes.
Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily remove advertisements from the
Website. You may continue to receive contextual or non-personalized advertisements based
on the content of the page rather than your previous browsing activity.
For more information about companies that may participate in Mediavine advertising,
visit
Mediavine’s advertising partners page

Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 and may use other analytics services to understand Website
traffic and reader engagement. These services may collect information about your device,
browser, approximate location, referral source, pages viewed, interactions, and visit
duration through cookies and similar technologies.
We use analytics information to understand which content readers find useful, improve
Website performance, identify technical problems, and guide future content.
You can learn more by reviewing
Google’s Privacy Policy

Google also provides a
Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on

Email Newsletter
If you subscribe to our newsletter, we may collect and use your name, email address,
subscription source, consent records, and information about how you interact with our
emails, such as whether an email was opened or a link was clicked.
We use Mailchimp, an Intuit service, to manage subscribers, send newsletters, operate
email automations, and measure email performance. Mailchimp processes subscriber
information on our behalf and in accordance with its own policies.
You may unsubscribe at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link included at the bottom
of our marketing emails. After you unsubscribe, we may retain a limited suppression
record so that we can continue honoring your request and meet applicable legal
requirements.
For more information, review
Mailchimp’s Global Privacy Statement
.
Comments, Recipe Ratings, and Gravatar
When visitors leave comments or recipe ratings, we collect the information shown in the
comment form. WordPress may also collect the visitor’s IP address and browser user-agent
information to assist with spam detection, security, and moderation.
An anonymized string created from your email address, sometimes called a hash, may be
provided to the Gravatar service to determine whether you use that service. After your
comment is approved, a profile image associated with your Gravatar account may be
publicly visible alongside your comment.
Gravatar is operated by Automattic. You can review
Automattic’s Privacy Policy
.
Approved comments, recipe ratings, names, profile images, and any information you include
in the comment itself may be publicly visible. Do not include private or sensitive
information in a public comment.
If you choose the option to save your name, email address, and website in your browser
for future comments, WordPress may store that information in cookies on your device.
Affiliate Links and Sponsored Content
Some content contains affiliate links. When you click an affiliate link, the retailer or
affiliate network may receive information such as the referring page, your device or
browser information, your IP address, and a cookie or tracking identifier. These
technologies allow the retailer or network to determine whether a purchase or other
action resulted from our link.
We may earn a commission when you make a qualifying purchase through an affiliate link,
at no additional cost to you.
As an Amazon Associate I earn from qualifying purchases.
We do not receive your full payment-card information merely because you click an
affiliate link or purchase something from an outside retailer. Your purchase is governed
by the retailer’s own terms and privacy policy.
We may also publish sponsored content or participate in paid campaigns. Sponsored
campaigns may use tracking links, pixels, promotional codes, or reports from campaign
partners to measure reach, clicks, conversions, or other agreed campaign results. We will
disclose sponsored relationships where required.
Embedded Content and Social Media
Pages on the Website may include embedded videos, images, social posts, sharing tools, or
other content from services such as Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, and
similar platforms.
Embedded content may behave as though you visited the third party’s website directly.
Those services may collect information about you, place cookies, use tracking
technologies, and monitor your interaction with the embedded content, particularly if
you are logged into an account with that service.
Your interaction with a social media or embedded-content provider is governed by that
provider’s own privacy policy and settings.
